The last skyrocket has faded from the sky;
we celebrate we're free, but free to what?
To walk the path we've always walked before,
to see, perhaps, an angle that is new?
So, step and step again a forward way;
see stepping stone or stumbling block ahead?

Remembering that Freedom isn't free,
and living in it has a cost as well,
we make the choices, take the forward step.
To celebrate light-hearted, freedom's flight,
or diligently hold to its intent,
To see the last skyrocket slice the sky,
its trailing sparkles brightly cascade down,
we grasp the soul of freedom once again.
We step and step again a forward way.
